Chapter 68 - April 29, 2013

My new companion is Elder Meier and he is legit! XD.  He is from Gilbert Arizona, he likes sports/videogames/having fun.  He has a strong testimony and is a great elder and i look forward to spending a few transfers with him and dominating up Ririe with him XD.  So the baptism that we had this last saturday went very smoothly and was such a wonderful experience because after the baptism there were soooo many people that came up to us and gave us thanks for everything we have done for him because they have been praying that he would see the necessity to be baptized and become sealed to his wife/kids for the past many years.  It made me happy to think that the Lord had used me to answer all these prayers XD.  Our investigator had a ton of support too at the baptism.  Most of the chapel was filled with people there to support him XD.

Man, i know i say this EVERY time that i have a baptism but seriously there isn't a greater joy than seeing someone progress in the gospel to the point of enter the waters of baptism and follow the example of Jesus Christ.  But speaking of baptisms, i have more good news to tell you about XD.  This week we were able to find a new investigator who is super interested in joining the church and she accepted the invitation to be baptized!!! XD.  We set a goal for her to prepare to be baptized on June 1st and man when we invited her to do that the spirit was there so strongly that she started tearing up a little bit and new that this is what she needed to do.  I Love being a missionary and i love serving here in Ririe!!!!! XD hahahaha.  Well, that's all that happened this week so i am going to end this email here XD.  Peace out and love you!

Chapter 67 - April 22, 2013

The first thing that happened to us this week is that we got transfer calls and we found out that Elder Bush is getting transferred.  Neither of us were expecting it because we figured we would be together for his entire training but i guess heavenly father only planned on having me do the first half of training.  I hope that he has learned some things from being my companion and that they stick with him for the rest of his mission because i definitely learned a few things from him.  My new companion is going to be Elder Myers who has been out 3 months, so he will have just finished being trained when i get him as a companion, and the only thing i have learned about him is that he is from.....ORANGE COUNTY CALIFORNIA BABY!!!!! HECK YA!!!!! hahaha.  So he is going to be my 3rd Californian companion XD.  I wonder where in OC he is from?  Well, i guess i will find out on wed where he is from XD.  But one good thing from me finding out that i am staying is that.....I WILL GET TO DO MY LAST SKYPE CALL HOME FROM RIRIE!!!!!!!! XD So 2/3rds of my mission skype calls will have been from ririe hahaha XD.  I will probably do it at the Jose's too so you will get to meet them for a sec on the skype call XD.

Well, i guess the other thing i have to report on this week is that we had our baptism on Saturday and man was it an awesome baptism.  Everything that you could ask for in a baptism to make it perfect happened at that baptism.  The entire room was filled so there was a lot of support from the ward, the baptism was wonderful, and at the end we had a testimony meeting and a few people came up and bore wonderful testimonies.  The spirit was so strong there at the baptism and our investigator that we baptized, saun, has grown sooo much since i started teaching him 4 months ago.  I seriously have grown to love the people of Ririe so much that i honestly can't put it into words.  I love all the members, all the people that i have taught or am currently teaching, and the day i do get transferred will honestly be one of the saddest days ever for me haha.  If i could, i would actually want to serve out the rest of my mission here in Ririe i love it so much hahaha XD.  Well, that's all i have to report on this week.  Peace out and can't wait to tell you next monday about the baptism that we are having this saturday XD.

Chapter 66 - April 15, 2013

:O :O :O!!!!!! You got a MacBook Air!?!?!?!?!  Noooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! Apple is taking over the world! hahaha.  I bet that computer would stink for gaming though :P which is obviously the most important part hahaha XD.  Speaking of laptops, my laptop is still there and it still works right?  I sure hope it still is good and working by the time i get back hahaha XD.  But ya you are right, having a Mac is like driving on the wrong side of the road, mainly because it is the wrong side of the road hahaha XD. But i guess if you like it that's what matters XD.  I still plan on using PC so i can game (yes i still plan on playing video games when i get home hahaha) XD.

That's good that parker likes the MTC.  From the little part you sent me it sounds like he is having fun there and enjoying it XD.

Well, i guess it's time to update you on the things going on with us in Ririe.  This week we took one of our recent converts, Jorden (ya he has the same name as me hahaha), to the Temple Visitor Center for a fireside that was on Modern Day Prophets and it was an amazing Fireside.  The 2nd councilor in our mission presidency spoke and when he spoke the spirit was so strong in the meeting.  He talked about how we can always trust in a prophet, how they will never lead us astray, how they must be called of god, and the importance of one.  More good news is we are going to be having a baptism for one of our investigators this upcoming saturday and it's going to be a good one XD.  He has completely quit smoking and is super excited for his baptism XD.  Well, that's all i have to talk about this week so i am going to end this email here.  Peace out and love you.

Chapter 65 - April 8, 2013

Things are going pretty well for us right now.  One of our investigators is getting baptized in two weeks.  It has been a cool experience teaching him because ever since we started he has been completely open to everything we say.  Pretty much after the first lesson told us that he knows what we are teaching is true and that this is the right path that our heavenly father wants him to take.  Man, the Holy Ghost is amazing and i am so grateful for it because without the Holy Ghost none of this work would be possible. XD.

Some more success is about to come our way too.  This last week we found 2 more people to start teaching (unrelated to each other) and we just got a call today saying that there is this girl who is attending seminary and got permission from her parents to take the missionary discussions so we are about to actually get 3 new people to teach this week.  Things are going really well in Ririe and i am loving every minute of serving here.  Well, that's all i have to report on this week so i am going to end this here.  Thank you for everything and i loved the Easter package, especially the legit sandals.  Well, love you and have a good week XD.

Dang, I can't believe Jessica is already going on a mission.  She is definitely going to love her mission!  And you are right, 9 and a half hours from aliso viejo to salt lake city is pretty fast.  So that's cool that you guys watched conference in the Tabernacle but i don't think i have ever been inside that building.  Have i?  If i have i can't remember.  Oh, by the way i really like that picture you sent of you trading California Oranges for Idaho Potatoes.  Definitely a worthy trade in my book XD.  Man, Idaho Potatoes are sooooo goooood.  Well, that's all i have to report on this week so i am going to end this here.  Thank you for everything and i loved the Easter package, especially the legit sandals.  Well, love you and have a good week.

Chapter 64 - April 1, 2013

We had a baptism on Saturday and it went really well XD.  Back story behind her is we were just teaching her family to try and reactivate them and then one day she just comes out and tell us that she would like to be baptized because she never has been.  So long story short, she just got baptized and the family is now active once again and has a goal to go through the temple XD.  The work is going soooo well right now in Ririe and i am so happy to be able to continue serving here XD.  Right now, we have 2 more baptisms scheduled for April and both of them are super solid.  We are also working with a few other families trying to get them interested in taking the missionary discussions so keep praying for our success XD.  So something else that happened this week is we had Easter.  And to answer your concern from last week yes we were WELL fed hahaha.  We ended up having 3 dinners on sunday (mostly my fault because some of the families that i have grown really close to here offered to feed us and i excitedly said yes hahaha XD) and i feel so much fatter because of it hahaha.  Time to get to that exercising and go shoot some hoops for exercise XD. Oh, by the way i forgot to tell you that i have gotten into basketball and i have been doing that for exercise so i am getting a lot better at basketball now XD.  Well, that's all i have to report on this week so i am going to end this email here.  Peace out till next week and love you.
